Msamaria Center for Street Children

Msamaria Center is a non-profit children’s home located in Moshi, Kilimanjaro region in northern Tanzania. It was founded in 2007 by Tanzanian social worker Mr. Folkward Mapunda, with the aim of supporting vulnerable children and giving them a safe place to grow.

Today, the center supports over 130 children from difficult backgrounds, including street children and orphans. Around 70 children live at the center, where they receive daily care, meals, and a stable environment. The others attend school in boarding schools, but remain part of the Msamaria family and continue to receive support.

The children are between 3 and 18 years old. At Msamaria, they are not only provided with basic needs, but also care, guidance, and helping them build a better future step by step

Your Role
As an intern or volunteer, you take part in daily life at the center.
Typical tasks:

  • Help with homework and basic teaching
  • Play and organize activities (sports, games, arts)
  • Assist with daily routines and meals
  • Spend time with the children
  • You can also bring your own ideas and skills.

Practical Information:- 
Fee: USD 50 per month paid in cash at the centre
