Unique Batik is a small clothes and fabric shop in the center of Moshi town. It was started on 1999. In addition to the owner there are 7 to 9 other workers. The owner, Lida E. Msaki is lovely about 40 years old lady. She designs clothes herself which she then sells in her shop. She also dyes fabrics by using wax batik technique.
Most of the clothes sold in her shop are made out of the fabrics that she has dyed. Some of the fabrics she sells as materials and some as clothes. They also make clothes out of ready printed materials. In the shop they sell ready made clothes for women, men and children and also bags, table clothes and other products. From the shop you can also order taylor made clothes based on your own design or theirs. You can also order fabrics according to your own preferences on colors.
Lida would be very happy to receive interns in her shop. In the shop the intern can design new clothes and other products, manufacture them and also make batik fabrics. The shop needs also help in marketing and maintenance of the shop. Lida speaks good English and she is in the shop almost daily. The other workers speak also satisfactory English.
