St. Joseph Hospital is funded by Catholic Church and Government of Tanzania. Located 10 Minutes’ drive from Moshi Town and from Tanzania Volunteers Accommodation House. Hospital was established on 2001 and since then has been expanding continuously. There are normal required wards in the hospital; Female ward, Male ward, Pediatric ward, Outpatient ward, Maternity ward with labor/delivery room.
Also there is Operation theater, Counseling bureau, Emergency case department, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Mortuary, X-ray, Ultrasound and a New dialysis center. The Hospital has an average of 120-200 outpatients every day and about 150 patients in wards. About 62 nurses, 15 Doctors and 10 specialists.
St.Joseph Hospital offers internships, Voluntary and Elective placement for Physiotherapist, Midwifery, Medical and Nursing, Emergency care, Internal medicine Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatric and all other graduates from other Health care studies.
Staff are professional, motivated and taking good care of our interns. All past interns since 2008 have been very happy, satisfied with exposure received from this placement. Doctors and Nurses are always happy to share their work skills with you. By receiving different supervised task your internship time will always end up to be very valuable.
You can switch to different department and acquire more knowledge on your internship/elective time in Tanzania. The communication language at the Hospital is English and Swahili.
Interns working at St. Joseph hospital need to bring their own working clothes and shoes.
