Mawenzi Regional Hospital

Mawenzi Regional Hospital is located in the heart of Moshi town. It began before 1920 as a small military dispensary for German soldiers and was upgraded to a hospital in 1956. In the 1970s, the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) was established in Moshi, drawing much of the medical development and support in the region. Despite this, Mawenzi remained an active and essential healthcare facility for the community.

Today, Mawenzi Regional Hospital is a well-established and reliable institution. It employs around 400 staff members, including 15 specialist doctors, over 90 general doctors, and more than 60 intern doctors. The hospital has a capacity of over 300 beds.
